About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Bookkeeper to join our friendly and growing bookkeeping and accounts bureau in Woodbridge.
This is a fast-paced, varied role where no two days are the same. You'll manage bookkeeping and payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients, including hospitality businesses and multi-site operations, working as part of a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio
- Purchase ledger processing and supplier statement reconciliations
- Weekly sales and takings reconciliations
- Preparation of payroll timesheets
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls
- Posting payroll journals
- Calculating and recording holiday pay for variable-hours employees
- Managing workplace pension auto-enrolment
- Preparing supplier, PAYE and payroll payment schedules
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Maintaining control accounts, including:
- Sales
- Deposits and vouchers
- PAYE
- VAT
- Payroll
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and posting depreciation
- Preparing and posting prepayments and accruals
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve bookkeeping queries
- Supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards across the client portfolio
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Has payroll experience
- Can manage multiple deadlines and prioritise their workload effectively
- Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Is confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Is highly computer literate
- Has experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero
- Has experience using document capture software such as Dext or Lightyear
- Has good Excel skills
- Is keen to embrace AI and technology to improve efficiency
