Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with medication dispensing, and supporting pharmacy operations. Duties
- Greet customers courteously and assist them with their pharmacy needs at the counter
- Dispense medications accurately under supervision, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards
- Support the pharmacy team with medication administration procedures as required
- Maintain organised records of prescriptions and patient information in accordance with data protection regulations
- Manage stock levels, including ordering supplies and checking expiry dates
- Provide information to patients regarding over-the-counter products and basic medication advice
- Assist with administrative tasks such as processing prescriptions, billing, and filing documents
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the pharmacy environment
- Support patient care by answering queries professionally and empathetically
Skills
- Previous pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration processes and pharmaceutical terminology
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care and support diverse customer needs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
