The Foxes Den is looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Assistant Floor Manager to support the day-to-day running of the venue and help deliver an excellent experience for every guest.
Working closely with the Floor Manager and wider management team, you will take an active role on the floor, leading by example, supporting the team during service and ensuring that our standards of hospitality, cleanliness and presentation are consistently maintained.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step into management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Floor Manager with the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue.
- Lead and motivate the front-of-house team during busy services.
- Act as the responsible manager on the floor when required.
- Ensure guests receive friendly, efficient and professional service at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Allocate sections, breaks and daily duties to team members.
- Help train, develop and onboard new members of the team.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue.
- Monitor service standards and address issues quickly and professionally.
- Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints confidently.
- Support management with staff rotas, shift planning and holiday cover where required.
- Assist with stock control, deliveries and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Help minimise waste and support the management team in controlling operating costs.
- Ensure all food safety, health & safety and licensing procedures are followed.
- Communicate effectively between the kitchen, floor and management teams.
- Support functions, events and busy trading periods as required.
- Step up to support the Floor Manager and General Manager with the wider operation of The Foxes Den.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in hospitality, ideally within a busy café, restaurant, bar or similar environment.
- Has supervisory or team-leading experience, or is ready to progress into management.
- Is confident leading a team while remaining hands-on during service.
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Can remain calm, organised and decisive during busy periods.
- Has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Is reliable, approachable and comfortable taking responsibility.
- Understands that great hospitality comes from creating a positive experience for both guests and the team.
- Is flexible and willing to work weekends, occasional evenings and peak periods where required.
