We're looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead a portfolio of property safety contracts and ensure our customers receive safe, reliable and high-quality services.
This opportunity will appeal to someone with solid contract management experience who enjoys improving supplier performance, leading teams and driving continuous improvement. Whilst you'll oversee mechanical and electrical (M&E) safety programmes, you don't need to be an M&E expert when you join us. If you bring exceptional contract management, commercial awareness and leadership skills, we'll support you to develop your technical knowledge.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead the operational delivery of a portfolio of outsourced property safety contracts, working with specialist contractors who deliver statutory inspections, servicing, repairs and installations across our homes.
Working closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, you'll:
Lead and develop a team of Contract Delivery Surveyors and Officers.
Manage contractor performance, ensuring services are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards.
Hold suppliers accountable through KPI management, commercial reviews and performance improvement plans.
Drive value for money while maintaining excellent customer outcomes.
Ensure services meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Use data and performance information to identify risks, improve services and support business decisions.
Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners to deliver the best outcomes for our customers.
About you
We're looking for an experienced operational Contract Manager who knows how to get the best from suppliers and people. You'll ideally have:
Experience managing outsourced contracts within housing, construction, property, facilities management or another asset-intensive environment.
A strong track record of improving contractor performance and managing KPIs and commercial performance.
Experience leading and developing teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Confidence making decisions, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
An understanding of compliance, governance and risk management.
A customer-focused approach and a passion for delivering high-quality services.
Experience of M&E, building safety or property compliance would be beneficial, but it's not essential. We're far more interested in your ability to manage contracts, lead people and build high-performing supplier relationships.
This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a clear social purpose, where you'll have the autonomy to improve services, influence strategic decisions and make a genuine difference to the safety and wellbeing of thousands of tenants.
If you're an experienced Contract Manager looking for a role where your leadership, commercial expertise and relationship management skills can have real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
