We have an amazing opportunity for two Performance Engineers who will play a pivotal role in assuring the performance of more than 260 heat network schemes. Providing your technical expertise’s you'll assess efficiency, reliability and outage performance, providing robust assurance that our networks meet Ofgem's compliance requirements.
As we progress through Ofgem authorisation, your expertise will be critical in validating performance data before it is reported externally. Through detailed audits and evidence-led analysis, you'll determine compliance status, identify areas for improvement and provide assurance that our regulatory submissions are accurate, reliable and defensible.
This is a role where your insights will make a real impact. You'll work closely with colleagues across Energy Operations, Asset Management, Development and Compliance, influencing operational performance and helping to shape investment decisions through clear, data-driven recommendations.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you'll be trusted to challenge constructively, provide expert technical guidance and drive continuous improvement across our growing heat network portfolio. Your impact in the role:
- Conduct independent assurance audits on network efficiency, reliability and outage performance; verify Ofgem compliance data before external reporting; monitor network performance systems and escalate underperformance; represent the technical evidence base during Ofgem inspections.
- Energy SLT, Asset Management, Finance, Energy Operations Team, Development, Compliance, contractors, developers, consultants and Ofgem auditors.
- Your audit findings and recommendations directly influence operational improvement programmes and capital prioritisation across the portfolio.
What you'll bring:
- Engineering degree (mechanical preferred) and strong technical knowledge of heating system operation and optimisation desirable or with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in a technical assurance, performance engineering or audit role.
- Strong technical knowledge of heating system operation and optimisation, with at least 3 years' experience in a technical assurance, performance engineering or audit role.
- Experience in quality assurance and performance testing, with the ability to analyse technical data and produce compliance reports.
- The confidence to challenge senior colleagues on compliance evidence and influence engineering and operational decisions without direct authority.
