Specialist Send Group is looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEND High School and College. This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs, supporting them both academically and personally as they prepare for adulthood.
This role would suit a teacher who is committed to delivering engaging, personalised learning and believes every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support learners with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), communication needs, and SEMH.
- Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where learners feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents/carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor learner progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure every learner can succeed.
- Promote independence, confidence, communication, and life skills alongside academic achievement.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and personalised learning plans.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing for all learners.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching learners with SEND (school, specialist provision, or alternative provision).
- Has a patient, compassionate, and flexible approach.
- Is confident adapting lessons to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
- Builds strong, positive relationships with learners, families, and colleagues.
- Has excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills.
- Is committed to helping every learner achieve their potential.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
