About us
The Hamptons Hospital is a modern private day-case hospital in the south of Peterborough. We provide high-quality diagnostic and surgical services for both NHS and privately funded patients, supported by excellent clinical teams and state-of-the-art facilities.
Our patient administration and bookings team is central to how the hospital runs and how patients experience our service.
About the role
This is a busy, people-focused role at the heart of the patient journey. You’ll be the main point of contact for patients, referrers, and clinical teams, making sure bookings are handled accurately, professionally, and with care.
The team is based at Endeavour House, opposite the main hospital. Shifts run between 07:00 and 20:00, Monday to Sunday. Full-time hours are 37.5 per week, worked across early and late shifts. Part-time and bank options are also available.
You’ll need to be organised, calm under pressure, and confident dealing with people. Attention to detail matters, but so does warmth, empathy, and clear communication.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing referrals and enquiries from GPs, the NHS, insurers, and self-pay patients via e-RS, phone, email, and post
- Booking patients into services, working closely with clinical teams to meet clinical needs and agreed timeframes
- Maintaining accurate patient records and booking systems
- Supporting KPI reporting and service activity tracking
- Attending external MDT meetings and recording outcomes for patients
- Handling self-pay enquiries, estimates, and quotations
- Communicating clearly with patients and third parties to manage expectations and provide excellent service
- Supporting high utilisation of consultant clinics and services
- Handling confidential information in line with data protection and hospital policies
- Working with wider admin teams to gather and share required documentation
- Supporting ad-hoc tasks as needed by the management team
What we’re looking for
- Strong customer service experience, ideally in healthcare or a similar fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Good organisation skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Confidence working independently while being a strong team player
- A professional, patient-centred approach
This role suits someone who enjoys being busy, likes solving problems, and wants to play a key part in delivering a positive patient experience.
