Riverside College are looking for a Lecturer to deliver outstanding Brickwork provision, from Entry Level to Level 3, at the College.
Teaching and Learning
· To develop and implement teaching and learning strategies which ensure students are successful in Brickwork programmes.
· To be able to teach across all levels of Brickwork from entry level to level 3 in both workshop and theory based learning environments.
· To promote student centred learning, ensuring all students have access to differentiated learning materials.
· To embed stretch and challenge so all students reach their full potential.
· To identify and implement strategies to ensure that the student’s learning experience is of the highest standard.
School of Construction
· To be involved with the promotion of the School of Construction activities across the College and at external events, maintaining and forging links with partner institutions, such as schools and universities.
· To provide enrichment and enhancement activities within the Construction area
Pastoral
· To take an active role in the selection, induction and support of students.
· To promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
· To meet the individual needs of all students to ensure all have an equal chance of success.
Personal Development
· To undertake staff development and attend staff meetings as required and requested.
· To accept flexible redeployment and reallocation of duties commensurate with the level of the post.
Qualifications
· Relevant L3 vocational qualification in Brickwork
· Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
· Assessors Award is an advantage but not required
· Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge/Experience
· Significant and successful teaching experience in Brickwork, with a proven record of success would be an advantage
· Experience of effective team working and effective relationships between staff and students
· Ability to develop supportive working relationships with parents and other key stakeholders
· Knowledge of curriculum and assessment issues is an advantage but not necessary
· Detailed understanding of curriculum developments and national initiatives in Construction
· Current knowledge of awarding body practices, through up-to-date training is preferable
· Knowledge of safeguarding issues
· Knowledge of equality and diversity issues

· Ability to manage and resolve a range of situations in the best interests of the students
· Ability to contribute to the whole College experience

Post Information
· Reports to the Head of Engineering & Construction
· Salary – £32,769 - £48,084
