As a Care Coordinator in Training & Recruitment, you are in a powerful position to influence the future of our care and change the way care is delivered. Your work directly impacts on the quality of our care and the quality of our clients lives. You will also help shape the branch alongside the Care Manager.
The role is based in our Ulverston office (Market Place) Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. You will also be part of the on-call rota which involves taking the on call phone home on some evenings and weekends. Being a driver is essential for the role.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Answering incoming calls in a positive, happy, professional, unrushed and pleasant manner making the caller feel important and special
· Overall management and implementation of the training strategy
· Deliver induction training courses to include care certificate, medication training and moving & handling
· Hands on shadowing and support in the community to develop staff skills in the real clinical setting
· Signing off the new starter care certificate observations
· Support staff through the onboarding period to minimise attrition
· Create a monthly CPD programme and arrange monthly training sessions
· Arrange clinical skills sessions to sign off more advanced competencies
· Ensure all staff get periodic unannounced mentoring visits
· Arrange and offer NVQ / QCF opportunities for all staff
· Ensure staff have regular mid-term and annual appraisals
· Identify training and development areas in staff and support their bespoke learning
· Ensuring staff are engaging with their CPD folders
· Maintain all training records and data
· Gather data and feedback for training evaluate and improve our practice
· Overall management and implementation of the recruitment strategy and process from enquiry to onboarding
· Consulting with the scheduling team and care manager to discover which areas we need more staff recruiting
· Managing recruitment advertising
· Creating recruitment campaigns and initiatives
· Being creative and thinking of ways outside the box to attract the most high-quality applicants possible
· Generating new applicant enquiries
· Supporting and nurturing desirable candidates through the recruitment process
· Building positive, friendly and warm relationships with applicants
· Conduct screening phone calls with all applicants
· Evaluate application forms from applicants
· Book interviews for promising applicants
· Ensure all applicants have full satisfactory references and DBS checks
· Booking successful applicants onto induction training
· Ensuring new candidate personnel files are complete and compliant
· Maintain all recruitment records and data
· Contribute to staff retention
· Participate in a share of the on-call rota out of hours
· Promoting the good name of Westmorland Homecare in the community
· Any other activities that may be necessary to meet the needs of the business
