Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency
- Manage food production schedules to meet service times and minimise waste
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to optimise costs
- Train staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment at all times
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Experience in food production within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good understanding of restaurant operations including serving procedures and customer service excellence
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and management
