Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary
The Kings Arms Hotel is looking for a proactive and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to help bring pride, organisation and attention to detail back into our family-run hotel.
This is not a role where you'll simply follow a checklist or manage a team from behind a desk. In fact, you'll often be working independently, taking ownership of the hotel and spotting things that need doing before anyone has to ask.
We're looking for someone with real initiative. If a hallway looks untidy, a picture is crooked, flowers need watering, a guest notices a light bulb is out, or a room doesn't quite feel right—you'll be the type of person who simply gets it sorted.
The ideal candidate will treat the hotel as if it were their own, taking genuine pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for our guests. We don't want someone who waits to be managed—we want someone who enjoys making things better every day.
Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
- Prepare guest bedrooms to a high standard, ensuring every room is spotless and welcoming.
- Carry out daily inspections of bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas.
- Spot maintenance issues and report them before they become problems.
- Keep reception areas, corridors, staircases and communal spaces clean, tidy and clutter-free.
- Ensure stock rooms and housekeeping cupboards remain organised and fully stocked.
- Manage laundry and linen supplies.
- Water plants, refresh displays and keep the hotel looking loved and cared for.
- Work closely with the management team to continually improve the guest experience.
- Assist with breakfast preparation or other hotel duties when required.
- Ensure all Health & Safety and COSHH procedures are followed.

Previous housekeeping or hotel experience is an advantage but isn't essential for the right person.

Pay: £16.00 per hour
