FULL TIME SALES ASSISTANT REQUIRED
Description: Day to day duties in a busy retail outlet including answering phones, processing orders, stock control, till processing, general good housekeeping with a high level of customer service.
Hours: Approximately 40 including 4 weekdays and Saturday.

Qualifications/Experience: Retail Experience, English, and Maths GCSE level or equivalent. Must have good clear communication skills both verbally and written with the ability to work in a team. A basic level of computer skill and willingness to learn with common sense is essential. Previous experience in the DIY/Hardware trade preferable. Training will be provided.
Job Duties:
- To provide excellent customer service so as to optimise and sustain sales performance, profitability and customer satisfaction
- To merchandise, re-stock, replenish and clean sales areas
- To maintain displays and re-stock shelves as necessary
- To operate the till and handle sale transactions in accordance with company procedures and policies
- To learn about the products and provide customers with specialist product information
- To work to the best of ability to meet sales targets
- To deal with customer complaints in a calm, efficient and helpful manner
- To keep the store and staff area clean and tidy, assist with the upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures and fabric of the shop premises
- To be aware of health and safety issues
- To be aware of shop security
- To unpack deliveries and check dispatch notes in accordance with company procedures
- To actively promote the Company’s ethos
- To assist and follow direction from the Manager in relation to re-ordering of certain stock and customer orders as per company procedures
- Flexibility in changing working days with notice, to meet operational or other seasonal needs
- Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing, and communicate this to relevant departments in the Company
- Any other duties as requested by an appropriate authority
