Argoco Cylinder Services Ltd is a new company specialising in the refurbishment and testing of high-pressure gas cylinders. While we're a new business, we're backed by years of industry experience as a sister company to SGS Gases Ltd, a well-established, family-run business.
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job properly, and wants to be part of building something from the start.
This isn't a role where you'll be sitting behind a desk. It's physical, sometimes dirty, and can be hard work—but if you enjoy working with your hands and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, you'll fit right in.
What you'll be doing
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Operating a semi-automated external shot blasting machine.
- Carrying out manual internal shot blasting to clean gas cylinders.
- Applying powder coat finishes.
- Operating ultrasonic testing equipment to inspect cylinders.
- Handling and moving high-pressure gas cylinders safely throughout the refurbishment process.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
Initially you'll spend time training and learning the products and processes at SGS Gases Ltd before moving to Argoco Cylinder Services' new site as refurbishment and testing operations begin.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally be someone who is:
- Practical and mechanically minded.
- Happy carrying out physically demanding work.
- Comfortable handling heavy gas cylinders safely.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in.
- Detail-focused and able to follow procedures accurately.
- Keen to learn new skills and take on responsibility.
Experience with shot blasting, powder coating or industrial finishing would be a real advantage, but it's not essential.
The opportunity
As the business grows, so will the role.
For the right person, we'll provide training to become qualified in ultrasonic cylinder testing. This work is carried out under strict industry regulations and requires recognised qualifications, all of which will be provided as part of your development.
You'll be joining a small team where your contribution genuinely matters, rather than being another number in a large organisation.
What you'll get
- Competitive salary.
- Full training provided.
- Opportunity to gain industry-recognised testing qualifications.
- A varied role with opportunities to develop your skills.
- The chance to help shape a brand-new business from day one.
- A friendly, professional, family-run working environment.
If you're looking for a new challenge, enjoy working with your hands, and want to build a long-term career in a growing specialist business, we'd like to hear from you.
