Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated GP Assistant to join our innovate Primary Care Network. The position is based at our Wellside Surgery in Sawtry. This role is designed to support GPs and the wider clinical team by undertaking a range of administrative tasks, helping to improve efficiency, patient care, and access to services.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in general practice, be confident using EMIS Web, and have a good understanding of NHS primary care processes, QOF, and preventative healthcare programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the practice's Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) registers.
- Use Ardens searches to identify eligible patients requiring reviews.
- Proactively contact patients to arrange appointments.
- Ensure accurate clinical coding and update patient records appropriately.
- Monitor outstanding work and support achievement of QOF targets.
Preventative Healthcare
- Use Ardens searches and EMIS Web to identify eligible patients for:
- NHS Health Checks
- Influenza vaccinations
- COVID-19 vaccinations
- RSV vaccinations
- Shingles vaccinations
- Pneumococcal vaccinations
- Other national vaccination and screening programmes
- Contact patients and encourage uptake in line with national guidance and practice targets.
Administrative Support
- Enter clinical information accurately onto EMIS Web.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
- Assist with general administrative duties to support the efficient running of the practice.
Clinical Administration
- Support recall systems for chronic disease monitoring.
- Ensure tasks are completed promptly and accurately.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
General
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, reception and administration teams.
- Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development.
- Contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
- Work in accordance with GDPR, NHS Information Governance standards and practice policies.
Pay: £20,800.00 per year
