Role Overview:
To maintain a clean, safe, hygienic, and professional working environment across the Company's manufacturing facilities. The Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring all office areas, welfare facilities, canteens, toilets, and communal spaces are maintained to a high standard, supporting employee wellbeing and compliance with health and safety requirements.
Based primarily at the Company's main manufacturing site, with cleaning responsibilities also covering a nearby secondary site on a planned rota basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain office areas, meeting rooms, reception areas, corridors and communal spaces
- Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and associated welfare facilities
- Maintain canteen and kitchen areas, including cleaning surfaces, appliances and dining areas
- Empty waste bins and ensure waste is disposed of correctly in accordance with site procedures
- Replenish consumables including toilet rolls, hand towels, hand soap, cleaning products, and other hygiene supplies
- Carry out scheduled cleaning duties at the Company’s nearby secondary site, including toilets and canteen facilities, on a rota basis
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable condition
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns identified during cleaning activities
- Follow all Company health and safety procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning materials
- Assist with periodic deep cleaning activities as required
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout both sites
Experience
- Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience, ideally within a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or office environment (essential)
- Experience cleaning welfare facilities, including toilets, canteens, kitchens, and communal areas (essential)
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the use of cleaning equipment and materials (essential)
- Experience of working to cleaning schedules and maintaining high standards of housekeeping (essential)
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and the safe handling of cleaning chemicals (desirable)

- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across multiple work areas
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a working environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance attention
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage workload with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules, procedures, and instructions accurately
- Physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and moving throughout the working day
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, contractors, and visitors
