Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping with precision and care
- Assess each dog's coat condition and determine appropriate grooming techniques to suit breed standards and individual needs
- Handle animals gently and confidently, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand specific grooming preferences and provide after-care advice
- Assist with animal care tasks such as feeding, handling, or light veterinary support when necessary
- Lift heavy dogs safely using proper techniques to prevent injury to yourself or the animals
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Knowledge of various breeds’ grooming standards and techniques
- Background in veterinary experience or animal care is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust and rapport with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling larger dogs
- Passion for animals combined with patience, compassion, and attention to detail
- Certification or training in animal grooming or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
