Weekend Support Worker | 15 hours a week | Buckinghamshire
Looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference, every single weekend?
At MacIntyre, we support people in ways that make sense to them - helping people live as independently, confidently and joyfully as possible. No care experience? No problem. If you're compassionate, a great communicator, and genuinely want to make a difference, we'll give you full training and ongoing support to help you thrive in the role.
About the role
You'll be supporting three brilliant young men who've lived together since 2014 and know exactly how to make the most of a weekend - cycling, swimming, bowling, cinema trips, holidays, or just getting out and about. Every weekend looks a little different, so if you love staying active and being out in the community, you'll feel right at home here.
The people you'll support are non-verbal, so part of the role is learning their world - communicating through visual tools, verbal prompts, and getting to know each person's own way of expressing themselves. A smile, relaxed body language, or an excited reaction can tell you everything you need to know, and those small moments are often the best part of the job.
What you'll help with:
-
Going to the bathroom, getting ready
-
Medication administration
-
Managing finances
-
Keeping up relationships with family and friends
-
Getting out and about for hobbies and activities
-
Building independence and life skills
Above all, you'll become someone trusted - a companion, encourager, and advocate in their lives.
The details
This role is 15 hours per weekend, and flexibility across weekends (including evenings) helps us keep support consistent for the people we care for.
Think of it this way: everyone deserves a little extra support to live life on their own terms. This is where you step in - helping people live with dignity, choice and opportunity, every single day.
