Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contracts Manager/Building Surveyor to oversee contractual and building surveying activities within our construction projects. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of contract administration, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee building surveys to assess existing structures for compliance, safety, and renovation potential.
- Coordinate project timelines using Microsoft Project to ensure timely delivery while managing resources efficiently.
- Lead negotiations to resolve contractual disputes or variations promptly and effectively.
- Conduct site inspections regularly to monitor construction progress, quality standards, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to develop schedules, budgets, and procurement strategies using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain organizational records of contracts, survey reports, change orders, and project documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices in management, communication, and project execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management or as a building surveyor with a strong understanding of contractual processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate agreements that benefit all parties involved.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling; Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication; familiarity with IT systems related to construction management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively within tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Valid driving license for site visits and inspections as required.
- Construction experience is essential; knowledge of building codes and safety regulations is highly desirable.
