Electrical Contract Manager – Retail Fit-Outs
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Contract Manager to oversee fast-paced commercial and retail fit-out projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest brand and compliance standards.
The Role
· You will manage electrical works across retail fit-out projects, including shops, shopping centres, high-street stores, and other commercial environments.
· You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, designers, main contractors, and inspectors to keep projects moving efficiently.
· You will ensure works meet programme deadlines, retail brand standards, electrical safety requirements, and all relevant building regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver fast-track retail fit-out projects to strict short-turnaround schedules.
· Review architectural and electrical drawings, identifying design clashes before works begin on site.
· Manage project budgets, track variations, control costs, and help prevent avoidable delays.
· Recruit, lead, supervise, and coordinate reliable electrical teams and relevant on-site trades.
· Act as the main point of contact between clients, store designers, main contractors, local inspectors, and site teams.
· Maintain excellent communication throughout each project and provide clear progress updates.
About You
· At least 5 years’ experience in commercial or retail fit-outs, ideally including shops, shopping centres, or high-street stores.
· Relevant electrical qualifications, such as NICEIC, JIB Gold Card, EEECS/ECS UK management credentials, or equivalent.
· Health and safety qualifications such as SMSTS, NEBOSH, or equivalent would be advantageous.
· Strong working knowledge of current electrical safety standards, building regulations, and site compliance requirements.
· Confident managing subcontractors, coordinating trades, and enforcing strict health and safety standards on site.
· Able to work under pressure, solve problems quickly, and maintain high standards in live or active retail environments.
Pay: £65,000.00 per year
