We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a band 6 secondment to cover 12 months maternity leave on Delamere ward, Woodlands hospital
This secondment is an opportunity to develop leadership skills and knowledge whilst working alongside an experienced nursing team.
Delamere ward is a 15 bedded female ward for older people, with both organic and functional illnesses. We work collaboratively with patients families and carers to develop individual treatment plans. The team encourages innovative practice and supports development at all times.
We have a broad multi-disciplinary inpatient team that includes nurses, nursing assistants, medical staff, a physical health care team, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
This post is not open to Newly Registered Nurses, candidates must have their NMC registration in place and successfully completed the preceptorship programme in order to be considered.
Undertake comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for older adults with mental and physical health care needs
Act as named nurse , contributing to care review processes and mental health tribunals
Deliver and evaluate person-centred nursing interventions
Provide clinical leadership and act as a senior decision maker during shifts
Regularly take charge of the ward, coordinating care delivery and staffing
Support the Ward Manager with operational duties, including rota coordination, staff supervision and quality monitoring
Supervise, mentor and support junior staff and students
Work closely with families, carers and partner agencies to support effective discharge planning
Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain high standards of documentation, governance and safeguarding practice
To ensure all mandatory and essential training is up to date.
