Greenville IDC Limited is seeking an ambitious, technically minded Sales Engineer to develop and grow our presence within the Food & Beverage manufacturing sector across Northern Ireland.
This is a customer-facing technical sales role focused on developing relationships with food and beverage manufacturers and identifying opportunities where Greenville IDC Limited can provide engineering, electrical, power quality and related technical solutions.
Northern Ireland has a significant and diverse food and drink manufacturing base, spanning meat and poultry, dairy, bakery, beverages, prepared foods and other processing operations. The sector is the region's largest manufacturing industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing customer relationships and working closely with our engineering and technical teams to deliver solutions that address genuine customer requirements.
THE ROLE
As Sales Engineer, you will act as the key commercial and technical contact for Greenville IDC Limited within the Northern Ireland food and beverage market.
You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of individual customer operations, identify technical and commercial opportunities and convert those opportunities into successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and grow Greenville IDC Limited's customer base within the Northern Ireland food and beverage sector.
- Identify new business opportunities and prospective customers.
- Develop relationships with food manufacturers, production sites and engineering departments.
- Arrange and conduct customer visits.
- Identify upcoming projects, capital expenditure programmes and engineering requirements.
- Generate new sales opportunities through proactive market development.
- Develop a structured sales pipeline.
- Follow up enquiries, quotations and opportunities.
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.
Technical Sales
- Understand customer electrical and engineering requirements.
- Discuss technical challenges with engineering, maintenance and production teams.
- Identify opportunities for power quality, electrical engineering and associated solutions.
- Work with Greenville IDC's engineering team to develop technically appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and present technical proposals.
- Explain complex engineering solutions in a clear and commercially focused manner.
- Support the preparation of quotations and project scopes.
- Attend technical meetings and site surveys where required.
TARGET MARKET
The primary focus of the role will be the Northern Ireland food and beverage manufacturing sector.
This may include:
- Meat and poultry processing.
- Dairy and milk processing.
- Bakeries and food production.
- Prepared and convenience foods.
- Beverage manufacturing.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
This is primarily a Northern Ireland field-based sales role, with regular customer visits throughout the region.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own diary and territory effectively, while attending the Greenville IDC Limited premises and internal meetings as required.
Regular travel throughout Northern Ireland will be required.
Occasional travel outside Northern Ireland may also be required for customer meetings, supplier meetings, training or industry events.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience.
Pay: £25,994.36-£60,130.76 per year
