£15.50–£17.50 per hour, depending on experience

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to take the lead in our kitchen at Colonel Paddy’s Cafe & Bistro.
This is a key position within the business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of our kitchen and helping us maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect.
Our food offering includes our well-known breakfasts, freshly prepared lunches and bistro dishes, alongside our outside catering division.
The Role
As our Chef, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook our breakfast and lunch menu to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain quality, presentation and portion control across all dishes.
- Help develop new dishes, specials and seasonal menu ideas.
- Prepare food and assist with orders for our outside catering division.
- Manage kitchen preparation and ensure service runs efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and food wastage.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.
- Ensure all food safety procedures, allergen controls and records are properly maintained.
- Work closely with our front-of-house team to provide a great customer experience.
- Help train and support other kitchen team members as the business grows.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a Chef, Cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy café kitchen.
- Can produce high-quality breakfasts and lunches consistently.
- Works well under pressure during busy service periods.
- Has strong food hygiene and allergen awareness.
- Is organised, reliable and takes pride in presentation and cleanliness.
- Can contribute ideas and help us continue developing our menu and catering offering.
Previous experience within a busy cafe, bistro or restaurant environment would be particularly beneficial.
Hours & Pay
Standard hours:
Monday–Saturday, 8:30am–3:30pm
There will also be optional overtime opportunities on Thursday evenings and Sundays, particularly as our bistro and catering operations develop.
Pay: £15.50–£17.50 per hour, depending on experience and ability.
