About the Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen. You'll play a key role in maintaining food quality, supporting and developing the kitchen team, and ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example and takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen
- Assisting with food preparation and service to ensure consistently high standards
- Supervising and motivating kitchen team members during service
- Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Helping to manage stock levels, deliveries, and stock rotation procedures
- Monitoring food waste and supporting cost control initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
- Assisting with staff training and development to build a strong and capable team
- Supporting menu development and seasonal food offerings
- Stepping into the Head Chef's role when required and helping to ensure smooth kitchen operations
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie, or similar role
- A passion for fresh food and high-quality customer experiences
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to lead, motivate, and support a kitchen team
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Experience with stock management, food cost control, and waste reduction
- A proactive, positive, and hands-on approach to work
- The ability to perform well in a busy kitchen environment
