Job Summary
Situated in the centre of Billingshurst, Scribes is a busy restaurant/cafe which is open from 8 am until 4 pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 3pm on a Sunday.

In this vital role, you will assist in preparing delicious cafe meals, including our popular full english breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and maintaining a spotless kitchen environment, and supporting the overall flow of food service operations.
Availability at weekends is essential.

Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards rigorously to maintain a clean kitchen environment.
- Support the cooking team by preparing ingredients, garnishes, and basic dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations throughout shifts
- Help with serving food to customers or guests in accordance with established procedures
- Manage waste disposal and ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is highly desirable
- Experience working in a restaurant, cafe or hospitality environment will be considered an asset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude are essential for success in this role
Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
