Due to continued company growth, an opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly machine shop team as a Manual Machinist / Toolroom machinist. You will support the production of precision components using manual milling, tapping, drilling, and turning techniques. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong “old-school” machining knowledge and hands-on expertise in traditional toolroom practices. Inspection experience would be an advantage.

Duties will include:
- Operating manual milling, drilling, tapping, and turning machinery, grinders, and other conventional workshop equipment
- Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Inspecting and finishing components to a high standard
- Maintaining stock levels to support continuous production
- Produce high-quality components to tight tolerances
Experience / skills required:
- Proven experience with manual milling, drilling, tapping, and turning
- Strong toolroom machine shop background
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and organisational skills
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience with various metals and plastics
- Adherence to health & safety procedures at all times
Desirable Qualities
- Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent trade background
- Old-school machining knowledge and mechanical intuition
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Willingness to share knowledge and support team development
- Formal inspection experience
