ANDYSMANCLUB is one of the UK’s fastest-growing men’s mental health charities, dedicated to reducing male suicide and ending the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
Founded in 2016 following the tragic loss of Andrew Roberts, we have grown from a single peer-to-peer support group into a nationwide movement with over 300 groups across the UK. Every week, thousands of men attend our groups to talk openly, support one another and know that they are not alone.
As we continue to grow, safeguarding remains at the heart of everything we do. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Lead to support and strengthen our safeguarding processes, ensuring our culture, systems and practices remain safe, consistent and effective across the organisation.
The Opportunity
This is an important opportunity to lead safeguarding across one of the UK’s most recognised men’s mental health charities.
Working closely with the COO and senior leadership, you will help ensure safeguarding is embedded across the organisation, supporting the safety and wellbeing of our members, volunteers and staff.
You will act as the organisation’s safeguarding lead for day-to-day concerns and escalations, providing advice, guidance and support, whilst helping to develop and maintain policies, procedures, training and quality assurance processes that ensure ANDYSMANCLUB continues to operate safely and in line with best practice.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing sensitive situations, passionate about safeguarding, and committed to creating environments where people feel safe, supported and protected.
What You’ll Be Doing
Safeguarding Lead
You will:
- Act as the main safeguarding contact for escalated concerns.
- Implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture across the organisation.
- Provide safeguarding advice and guidance to staff and volunteers.
- Lead safeguarding decision-making and escalation processes.
Case Management & Support
You will:
- Oversee and support the management of safeguarding concerns and incidents.
- Provide advice on safeguarding cases and risk management.
- Support staff and volunteers in responding appropriately to concerns.
- Ensure safeguarding records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Identify learning and themes from safeguarding activity.
- Work with external agencies where required.
Training & Development
You will:
- Delivery of safeguarding training and awareness sessions.
- Ensure safeguarding knowledge is embedded across the organisation.
- Support managers and volunteers to understand their responsibilities.
- Monitor safeguarding training compliance.
Quality Assurance & Improvement
You will:
- Monitoring of safeguarding practices across the organisation.
- Assist with audits and reviews of safeguarding activity.
- Help identify areas for improvement and contribute to solutions.
- Lead on the development of quality assurance processes.
- Ensure safeguarding practice reflects current guidance and expectations.
Compliance & Reporting
You will:
- Be responsible for safeguarding reporting and documentation processes.
- Update senior leadership.
- Maintain awareness of relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
- Lead on organisational risk management activity relating to safeguarding.

You will be able to:
- Manage sensitive safeguarding situations with confidence and care.
- Provide clear safeguarding advice and guidance.
- Support the development and delivery of safeguarding processes.
- Deliver training and support to others.
- Build strong and effective working relationships.
- Work independently whilst being part of a wider team.
- Use sound judgement, empathy and professionalism in decision-making.
