· Job Summary: To provide high-quality childcare and play opportunities for children attending the out of school club, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and enjoyment in line with the Club's policies and procedures.
· Responsible to: The Manager and Directors.
· Responsible for: Children attending the Club.
· Location: St. Mary’s CVA, Horsforth
· Hours: 20.5hrs per week. Mon – Fri 7:30-9am & 3-5:30pm (Tues 2:30-5:30pm)
· Contract type: Permanent (Subject to a satisfactory probation period)
· Salary: £12.75/hr

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and reliable Playworker to join our friendly team and help deliver high-quality childcare in a fun and supportive environment.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
· Deliver quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
· Prepare and serve refreshments whilst maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
· Work alongside other team members with children aged between 4 and 11 years, based in the designated out of school club area, but also using the outdoor area and other areas as appropriate.
· Administer first aid when required and accurately record any accidents or incidents.
· Contribute ideas for activities and planning, demonstrating creativity and initiative.
· The group of children you will be responsible for covers a wide age range, and you will need to ensure the different groups can gel and play happily together, as well as supporting inclusive practice for children with additional needs.
· Set up the play space, including moving furniture and play equipment.
· Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children and report any safeguarding concerns promptly in line with club procedures.
· Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues, promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
· Work in accordance with the Club's policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and, where applicable, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
· Carry out other duties that may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of duties, responsibilities and grade of this post.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential Qualities:
· Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references in line with safer recruitment requirements.
· Experience of working with children aged 4-11 years.
· A positive, enthusiastic approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
A willingness to undertake all mandatory training and continuous professional development.
Desirable Qualities:
· Level 2 Childcare or Playwork qualification (or equivalent childcare qualification.)
· Paediatric First Aid Certificate
· Level 2 Safeguarding training.
