Thorndale Lifehouse provides 38 self-contained family units, supporting up to 125 individuals and families experiencing homelessness or facing complex life challenges. As an Assistant Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality support service that promotes choice, independence, and personal responsibility. Working closely with families and individuals, you will help residents identify and achieve their goals, overcome barriers, and build the skills needed to sustain positive change.
Many of the families we support have experienced significant life challenges and trauma. As a result, strong communication skills, empathy, resilience, and the ability to build positive, professional relationships are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Provide practical and emotional support to residents in line with their individual support plans

Empower clients to make informed decisions, develop independence, and achieve personal goals

Support residents with day-to-day living skills, including budgeting, accessing services, and maintaining tenancies

Complete administration, reception, and record-keeping duties accurately and efficiently

Work collaboratively with colleagues and a range of external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for residents

Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing within the Lifehouse
-
Encourage engagement with activities, services, education, training, and employment opportunities

Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting and supportive relationships with residents

Contribute to the smooth operation of the Lifehouse through flexible teamwork and a proactive approach
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
