Full Time Duty Manager (Hands On) - Immediate Start Available
Location: Pinehurst Lodge Hotel, Pitmedden Road, Dyce, Aberdeen, AB21 0EX
Salary, Hours & Perks:
- Pay: £15 per hour
- Tips: Plus a fair share of tips, distributed monthly.
- Expected Hours: Around 35 hours per week (Full-time, Permanent).
- Rota Stability: Fixed 2-week set rota pattern so you always know your shifts in advance.
- Weekend Rota: 1 Weekend on, 1 weekend off (Enjoy every second weekend completely off).
- Earnings: Base of approx. £27,300 per year + monthly tips
- Overtime: Fully paid at your standard hourly rate - every hour you work you are compensated for.

The Pinehurst Lodge Hotel is a busy, family-run 27-bedroom with 2 apartments hotel and restaurant located in the heart of Dyce. We pride ourselves on delivering a warm, welcome, and cozy atmosphere for both our overnight corporate guests and our local dining patrons. We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and hands-on Duty Manager to join our team immediately, oversee daily shifts, and ensure our high standards of hospitality are consistently met.
The Rota & Shift Patterns
We operate on a predictable, fixed 2-week set rota for all of our staff, ensuring a great work-life balance.
- Monday - Friday shifts: between 3pm - 11pm.
- Saturday & Sunday Shifts: between 12 noon - 11pm
- Holiday Coverage: To maintain this stable system, all team members operate a mutual coverage policy - meaning management and team members step in to cover each other's shifts during annual leave.
The Role
This is not a "stand back and supervise" role. As a hands-on Duty Manager, you will be actively involved in every aspect of the hotel's daily operations. You will lead from the front, moving seamlessly between the front desk, administration, and food & beverage service depending on the needs of the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Front of House: Checking guests in and out of the hotel while providing a welcoming, top-tier customer service experience.
- Reservations & Admin: Managing room bookings, answering telephone inquiries, and promptly responding to emails using our computer reservation systems.
- Food & Beverage Service: Working on the restaurant, lounge floor, and bar. You will welcome diners, take table orders, pour drinks, and work behind the bar - supporting the other member of the team during service.
- Tills & Computer systems: Confidently operating our EPOS till computer system to process cash/card transactions, split bills, and manage daily financial reconciliations.
- Shift Leadership: Managing the shift team, delegating tasks, solving guest issues seamlessly, and closing down the venue safely at 11pm.
What we are looking for (Requirements)
- Age: must be over 18 due to licensing laws.
- Licence: A valid Scottish Personal Licence in highly preferred (or a willing to obtain one quickly)
- Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality, hotel, or food and beverage sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong comfort levels operating computer-based booking systems and hospitality reservation systems and EPOS till system.
- Team Flexibility: Willingness to provide holiday cover for colleagues to keep our set rota system running smoothly.
- Language: Must speak fluent English to confidently handle phone reservations, email correspondence, and front-of-house guest interactions.
- Commute: Must have a reliable way to travel to and from Dyce for shifts ending at 11pm (no live-in accommodation available)
