Window Fitter / Glazier

Salary: £23,000–£32,000 per year, depending on experience and ability

Wallingford Glass & Glazing Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our small, friendly team.
We’re happy to consider applicants across a wide range of experience levels. This could suit an 18+ school/college leaver or complete beginner looking to learn a skilled trade, through to a semi-experienced window fitter/glazier looking to continue developing their skills.
For someone joining us with little or no experience, full on-the-job training will be provided. We’re more interested in finding someone who is practical, reliable, willing to learn and has a good attitude.
For applicants towards the top end of the salary range, we’d expect previous experience within window fitting, glazing or a similar trade and the ability to confidently assist an experienced fitter across a range of jobs.
The role
Working alongside an experienced fitter/glazier, your work will include:
- Installing uPVC windows and doors
- Installing composite doors, aluminium products and bi-fold doors
- Replacing double-glazed units
- General glazing and glass installation
- Window and door repairs, including hinges, handles and locks
- Removing existing windows and doors and preparing openings
- Finishing work including trims and silicone
- Loading/unloading materials and keeping vehicles and work areas tidy
- Working in customers’ homes and on commercial sites
- Developing your skills and knowledge as your experience grows

Previous glazing or window fitting experience is advantageous but not essential.
A full UK driving licence would be an advantage, but we will consider non-drivers, particularly for entry-level applicants.
Salary will reflect your existing skills and experience, with the lower end suitable for someone entering the trade and the upper end aimed at a capable, semi-experienced fitter/glazier.
