HR isn't just a support function here. It's a chance to build something.
We're looking for an experienced HR professional to become our permanent in-house HR Officer for our growing business.
This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain existing processes. You'll help shape them.
Working alongside our Managing Director, Senior Managers and external HR Consultant, you'll play a key role in developing a modern, commercially focused HR function that supports both our people and our ambitious growth plans.
You'll still be involved in the day-to-day HR activity—but equally you'll have the opportunity to improve how we recruit, onboard, develop and retain our people.
If you're someone who enjoys making things better rather than simply maintaining the status quo, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
No two days will be the same. You'll be involved in:
- Supporting Managers with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Coaching managers to become more confident people managers rather than simply taking problems away from them
- Managing recruitment from advert through to onboarding
- Building stronger relationships with recruitment agencies and other partnerships to improve recruitment outcomes
- Reviewing and improving onboarding and probation processes
- Developing training plans and supporting management development
- Implementing and developing our new HRIS
- Producing HR reports and analysing trends including absence, turnover and recruitment
- Reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures and documentation
- Delivering HR improvement projects that genuinely make a difference across the business
About you
You'll already have solid HR generalist experience and be confident dealing with employee relations matters.
More importantly, we're looking for someone who understands that good HR is about building relationships. You'll know when to support, when to coach and when to challenge.
You'll enjoy working closely with operational managers, helping them develop their confidence whilst ensuring the business remains legally compliant and commercially focused.
We're not looking for someone who hides behind policy. We're looking for someone who can explain the "why", influence others positively and bring people with them.
You'll probably have:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
- Around 5 years' HR Generalist experience
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Excellent recruitment and retention experience
- Experience supporting employee relations matters
- Confidence writing professional correspondence and HR documentation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing or another operational environment would be advantageous.
The type of person who'll thrive here
You'll be:
✔ Practical and approachable
✔ Commercially minded
✔ Curious and always looking for better ways of doing things
✔ Organised and proactive
✔ Comfortable working independently
✔ Collaborative
✔ Resilient without being confrontational
✔ Able to influence rather than dictate
What we offer
- Salary up to £40,000 FTE depending on experience
- Annual bonus of up to 10%
- 33 days holiday
- Contributory pension
- Genuine autonomy
- Opportunity to shape the future HR function
- Professional development
- A varied role where your ideas will genuinely be listened to
If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact—not just administer HR—we'd love to hear from you.
