We’re looking for passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants in Cheltenham (and wider areas) to support children with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with special educational needs, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the development of all students.
- Support the care and supervision of toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being during school hours.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
- Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and working with children.
Skills
- Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong teaching skills, with the ability to engage students in a meaningful way.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or care setting is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles is beneficial.
- Ability to provide toddler care, ensuring their developmental needs are met effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
