Overview
We are a small, well established accountancy practice based in Stirling, providing a wide range of accounting and taxation services to local businesses and individuals.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced practice accountant to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a varied role with genuine responsibility, flexibility and a positive working environment.
This role would suit an AAT, ACCA, ICAS or ACA qualified accountant, a finalist nearing qualification or an experienced practice accountant with a strong background in UK accountancy practice roles.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Corporation Tax Returns.
- Self Assessment Tax Returns.
- Bookkeeping and completion of VAT returns.
- Companies House and HMRC compliance work.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and provide additional advice.
Requirements
- Approximately five years experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowlege of accounts preparation and taxation matters.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and other relevant platforms.
- Experience working with a varied portfolio of SME clients.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work performed.
