Overview
We are seeking a Senior Chef de Partie to join our small and dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Owner to run the kitchen of our new, 16 seat restaurant in the center of Newquay, Cornwall.
Responsibilities
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Lead food preparation
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow when the team grows
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes or seasonal updates
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a reputable restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong culinary skills with a thorough understanding of meal preparation techniques across various cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a busy kitchen environment is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Pay: £13.00-£14.40 per hour
