Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a trainee Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing our fleets of karts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our leisure business.
Responsibilities:
We're looking for a motivated self-starter with a keen eye for detail and extremely high standards to maintain our fantastic fleet of adult, youth and junior karts at our Kart centre in Ipswich, Suffolk. If you have a good work ethic and ability to work well alone as well as in a team with experience of small machinery mechanics get in touch.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on lpg, petrol and electric karts
- Perform daily checks & inspections to identify potential problems and recommend appropriate solutions
- Maintain detailed written records in respect to the maintenance of the karting fleet and equipment.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Ensure the kart fleets, workshop and power tools are maintained to the statutory Health and Safety requirements, Industry standards and NKA guidelines at all times.
- Manage the stock control of all sundries / parts required for maintenance of the karting fleet.
- Demonstrate a high level of Customer Service in all aspects of the role and support other staff to do the same.
Skills:
- experience as a Mechanic or similar role
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers
You'll be trained to complete routine maintenance and daily safety checks, maintain records and manage stock control. Basic IT and record keeping skills required. Knowledge and interest in Motorsport is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of NKA and industry guidelines would be an advantage.
Holidays to be taken outside of peak trading season. Minimum 18hrs/week. FT hours available for the right candidate in a dual track role. Please send cv and covering letter to apply
