We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our Estates team at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.
This is a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment across our campuses. The successful candidate will lead our security provision, supervise security teams across multiple sites and play a vital role in safeguarding students, staff and visitors. The position also has a significant focus on counter terrorism awareness, prevention and response, supporting the Group's commitment to protecting its communities from emerging security threats.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise security staff across all Group campuses, ensuring appropriate deployment, performance, training and professional standards.
- Undertake security duties to ensure that all campuses are opened and closed, secured, and alarmed at agreed times.
- Conduct regular patrols to monitor security and report any issues through the appropriate channels.
- Support the Group's counter terrorism strategy by maintaining vigilance, identifying suspicious activity, promoting security awareness and responding appropriately to potential threats.
- Liaise with external agencies, including Police, Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs) and emergency services where required.
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of security procedures, emergency response plans and critical incident management arrangements.
- Monitor student behaviour, intervening when necessary and promoting a positive College ethos. Report inappropriate behaviour to a duty manager.
- Investigate and report security incidents, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely escalation of concerns.
- Communicate professionally at all levels, remaining calm and composed in a range of situations, quickly assessing and diffusing issues in line with Group policies and values.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding, security awareness and personal responsibility across the Group.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in front-line security.
- Current SIA Licence.
- Door Supervisor Licence, or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid trained, or willingness to undertake training.
- Knowledge of security procedures, incident management and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Understanding of counter terrorism principles, protective security measures and threat awareness, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and decisive in challenging situations.
