About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance are consistently delivered.
You'll be a visible leader within the setting, supporting and developing the team while helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing environment for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the nursery
- Lead by example and model outstanding Early Years practice
- Support the delivery of a high-quality, child-centred EYFS curriculum
- Coach, mentor and support staff development through regular guidance and supervision
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers
- Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Conduct nursery tours and support new family enrolments
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards across the setting
- Assist with occupancy growth and community engagement activities
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
- Previous leadership, supervisory or senior practitioner experience within a nursery setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, positive and child-centred approach
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional Early Years education and care
Desirable
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
- Experience contributing to action plans and quality improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of nursery management systems and operational processes
- Experience supporting staff supervision, coaching and performance development
