Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide a high-quality learning experience for learners undertaking Functional Skills qualifications alongside their apprenticeship. The role is primarily focused on delivering Functional Skills English and Mathematics; however, the successful candidate will also be expected to deliver other training programmes and provide cover for colleagues when required.
You will be responsible for delivering training to individuals and groups face-to-face, remotely and within workplace environments. You will also support trainers with the planning, preparation and delivery of training activities to ensure learners receive an outstanding learning experience.
This role requires flexibility and may involve travel.
Essential Qualifications
- Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Relevant occupational competence in Functional Skills delivery.
- Good IT Skills
Main Duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Functional Skills English and Mathematics sessions.
- Deliver training and assessment to individuals and groups through face-to-face, remote and blended learning methods.
- Support learners to achieve their qualifications through effective teaching, coaching and mentoring.
- Deliver vocational, employability and other training programmes as required to support business needs and provide cover for colleagues.
- Adapt learning materials and delivery methods to meet individual learner needs and learning styles.
- Complete regular learner reviews, progress assessments and support sessions in line with company requirements.
- Mark learner work and provide constructive feedback within agreed timescales.
- Monitor learner progress, attendance and engagement, identifying barriers to learning and implementing support strategies where required.
- Ensure all assessment activity meets awarding organisation requirements and occupational standards.
- Support learners in achieving timely completion of qualifications.
- Support trainers and assessors with the planning, preparation and delivery of training programmes.
- Contribute to the development, review and improvement of training resources and learning materials.
- Participate in standardisation and quality improvement activities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employers and stakeholders.
- Support employer engagement and business development activities where appropriate.
- Ensure all training and assessment activities meet contractual, quality and compliance requirements.
- Travel nationwide across England to deliver training and support learners in workplace settings, training venues and employer premises.
- Deliver training remotely for those learners able to use this facility.
- Undertake overnight stays where necessary.
- Attend mandatory training, meetings and standardisation events.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as requested by your line manager.
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
