V Developments Limited is a high-quality construction, landscape and refurbishment specialist. We have 25 years' experience of completing high quality projects for both ourselves and our clients. We now require a labourer/ improver to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in both groundworking and refurbishment projects and have a desire to increase their skill set.
Labourer / Improver.
Role Overview
The Labourer / Improver supports all aspects of construction and landscaping projects, assisting skilled tradespeople while developing practical skills to progress within the company. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with site setup, protection, and daily clean-up.
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment safely.
- Carry out excavation, digging, backfilling, and ground preparation.
- Assist with laying paving, patios, fencing, drainage, turfing, planting, and other landscaping works.
- Mix concrete, mortar, and other materials as required.
- Measure, mark out, and prepare work areas under supervision.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow instructions from site supervisors and skilled trades.
- Learn construction methods and progressively undertake more skilled tasks.
- Comply with all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
Skills & Experience
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- CSCS card preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK driving licence desirable.
Progression
This role is intended as a development position, providing training and experience to progress into a skilled landscaper, groundworker, carpenter, or site supervisor as experience and competence increase.
