Role: Extrusion Operator/Team Leader
Location: Knowsley
Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm (moving to permanent nights following induction: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00pm - 6:00am)
Salary: Depending on experience

We're recruiting for a hands-on Extrusion Operator / Team Leader to play a key role in developing a growing extrusion operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer where you'll combine your technical expertise with the opportunity to support and guide a small production team.
The Role
As an Extrusion Operator / Team Leader, you'll be responsible for operating and setting up rubber extrusion machinery while helping to ensure production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:

Setting up and operating rubber extrusion machinery.

Preparing raw materials and ensuring the correct compounds are used.

Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to maintain product quality.

Carrying out product changeovers efficiently.

Completing quality inspections using measuring equipment.

Troubleshooting production issues and working closely with engineering to minimise downtime.

Supporting and motivating colleagues throughout the shift.

Assisting with work allocation to ensure production schedules are met.

Completing production documentation accurately.

Promoting excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.

Supporting continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
The candidate:

Previous experience operating rubber extrusion machinery.
-
Previous Team Leader or Supervisory experience would be advantageous

A strong understanding of rubber compounds and extrusion processes.

Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and profile gauges.

The ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

A proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
