The Sushi Co is looking for a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team at our Manchester Central location. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality, speed, and presentation, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, live kitchen environment.
As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes to company standards while maintaining excellent hygiene, food safety, and customer service. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and consistent food quality. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes in line with company standards
- Deliver food quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent quality and presentation
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times
- Manage your workstation, keeping it clean, organised, and well stocked
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering when required
- Work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Support team members and contribute to a positive kitchen culture
- Suggest and help develop new and modern menu ideas where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef (preferred)
- Experience in a restaurant, takeaway, lifestyle brand, or high-volume kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and sushi craftsmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
