Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Supervisor to oversee students during their midday break at our school. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and orderly environment for children, fostering positive behaviour and encouraging social interaction. Duties
- Supervise children during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Promote positive behaviour and resolve minor behavioural issues calmly and effectively
- Assist children with opening lunchboxes, utensils, or other needs as required
- Encourage social interaction and inclusive play among pupils
- Monitor the dining area to maintain cleanliness and organisation
- Support children who may require additional assistance, including those with special needs or behavioural challenges
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure smooth transition between lunchtime activities and classroom sessions
Skills
- Experience or interest in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles is desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; knowledge of French is a plus but not essential
- Driving skills are advantageous for roles involving school transport or related duties
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage groups of children confidently
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards children of various ages and backgrounds
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle behavioural issues sensitively
- Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary
