Are you a Healthcare Assistant with experience and passion, looking for a new and exciting opportunity?
We are a friendly forward thinking private medical practice based in Kings Heath Birmingham and as part of our continued expansion we are looking to recruit a self motivated, hardworking individual with a good sense of humour, and strong work ethic.
The ideal person will be a fully trained health care assistant (level 3 or 4) with Phlebotomy certification. This is a self-employed part time post but flexibility will be required. The successful candidate will be working alongside private GPs, running clinics undertaking phlebotomy, ECGs, Blood pressures, Chaperoning, checking BMIs and support Chronic disease management.
Responsibilities
- New Patient health checks
- Administering vaccines
- ECG recording
- Phlebotomy
- Spirometry
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of lab samples requested by GPs
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well- being
- Promote infection control and carry out clinical audits
- Helping raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care
- Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded
- Attend and participate in practice meetings as required
- Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection
- Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed
- Blood Pressure monitoring
- Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms
Experience
- Level 3 / 4 in Health and Social Care
- Phlebotomy qualification
- Past experience in the NHS or private practice is essential
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
- An ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, common sense and local knowledge, to respond to patients enquiries and requests while adhering to practice limitations and guidelines.
- An understanding and acceptance of one's capabilities and awareness of own limitations
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities
- Basic keyboard and computer skills
