Become a York Walking Tour Guide!
We are looking to add to our team of tour guides for our new tour in York. If you're friendly, love meeting new people, flexible and happy to share your passion for York to people from all walks of life then this role is perfect for you! Confidence speaking in front of large groups of people is a must.
Walking Tours in England provides city walking tours in towns and cities across the country. We have a passion for sharing the beauty of England with locals and tourists from across the world, and wish to make every visitor’s experience phenomenal.
Hours:
- Part Time Position, you choose tours you're free for!
- Exclusively private tours at varying times of day. Tour lengths will range from 1.5-3 hours.
- Likely 2-4 tours per week from May-October, moving to variable in the off season.
This job is very suitable for students, retired individuals and those looking for a part-time role to earn some extra money and are excited about sharing their passion and knowledge for York.
Skills and competency requirements:
- Excellent English communication and storytelling skills.
- Historical knowledge and passion for York.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility in working hours.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Insider knowledge of the city, restaurant recommendations, things to do etc

- Training stipend rising to at least £27.50 per 1.5 hour tour.
