Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join our specialist neuro-rehabilitation service on a part-time basis.
Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist level 2A neurological rehabilitation, treatment, slow stream rehabilitation, residential and respite care, as well as neurobehavioural services for up to 26 adults.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant who is passionate about delivering high-quality neuro-rehabilitation and improving long-term outcomes for patients with complex neurological conditions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in clinical leadership, medical management, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation planning, working alongside a skilled team of therapists, nurses, psychologists and rehabilitation specialists.
The role is ideally suited to someone seeking a flexible part-time consultant role within an established neuro-rehabilitation service with a high calibre MDT.
What you'll be working:
Hours: 2 consecutive days per week / 15 hours
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the multidisciplinary team that undertakes assessments for admissions to the service within our partner acute hospitals
- Provide input for Spasticity and Bowel / Bladder Management.
- Leading the multidisciplinary team in the care and treatment of our patients, including weekly ward round review
- Attend family meetings, case review meetings and discharge planning meetings as required
- Practise evidence-based care through national standards and guidelines
- Provide supervision to their allocated junior doctor
- Prepare for and participate in external reviews (CQC, Quality Network reviews); liaison with NHSE and participation in the Pan-London Specialist Rehabilitation Collaborative
What we would like from you:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine (or within 6 months of obtaining).
- Experience in neuro-rehabilitation and complex neurological disability.
- Strong multidisciplinary team working skills.
- Experience in clinical governance and quality improvement.
