Job Description:
We are a warm and welcoming family seeking a caring, reliable, and experienced Nanny to look after our two young children in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will be passionate about childcare, highly responsible, and committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for our children. The role will be on a Live-Out basis, to help with the care of our two young children and upkeep of our home, and will be a mixture of sole charge and shared care with the mother.
Key Responsibilities:
Nanny Duties:
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the children can thrive and develop.
- Plan and supervise age-appropriate activities (both indoors and outdoors).
- Assist with homework and support educational development.
- School/nursery drop-offs and pick-ups.
- Taking the children to extracurricular activities.
- Meal preparation and helping with bedtime routines.
- Accompanying the family on holiday travel as required, UK and abroad.
- Monitoring children's emotional and physical wellbeing and reporting any concerns to the parents.
Housekeeper Duties:
- General tidying and cleaning of the house, ensuring it is always clean and tidy (note that a full-time cleaner is employed; this role involves maintaining cleanliness in between cleaner visits).
- Laundry and ironing for the family.
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation.
- Helping to manage the household, including accepting home deliveries, liaising with tradespeople if needed, etc.
Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in a similar role is essential, ideally with qualifications in childcare and a proven track record in housekeeping.
- Strong decision-making skills to ensure children's safety, health, and well-being.
- Ability to build a positive relationship with the children and understand their needs and personalities.
- Reliable and punctual, with excellent time management skills.
- A driver's license is essential, and comfortability driving children to and from school/nursery and activities.
- Experience in managing household tasks and a keen eye for detail.
- Nannying Experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Childcare Experience: 1 year (preferred)
Other Requirements:
- A DBS check will be required.
- Driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel with the family as needed.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as required.
- Located in or can reliably commute to Newcastle.
