Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager - Operations to oversee daily functions within our care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of senior care, and experience in managing care teams. This role involves supporting the management team to ensure high standards of care are delivered, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a compassionate atmosphere for residents. Candidates with a background in assisted living, nursing home operations, or home care are highly desirable. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in supervising staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the care facility.
- Supervise and support care staff to ensure delivery of high-quality person-centred care.
- Oversee the implementation and review of individualised care plans, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out safely and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Lead staff training programmes, including leadership development and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, escalating concerns to healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to resident care, staff rotas, and regulatory compliance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages dignity, respect, and independence for residents.
- Ensure all operational procedures adhere to legal regulations and company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is essential; experience in home care or senior care is advantageous.
- Strong background in managing or supervising care teams within a residential setting.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and medication administration protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members.
- Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Experience working within regulated environments ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
