About the Role

Abbeywood Care Home is looking for a reliable and dedicated full-time Housekeeper to join our friendly team. Working 32 hours per week on shifts 07:30am until 2:00pm, you will play an important part in ensuring our residents always have a clean, safe, and comfortable environment to live in. Your work helps us maintain a comfortable, dignified, and homely environment for the people we support. This role involves working closely with clients to support their living space and overall wellbeing. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role.

Key Responsibilities:

To maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment in accordance with hygiene, infection control and health and safety.

Cleaning residents’ bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and lounges, ensuring all equipment and materials are safely stored and maintained.

Work closely with our residents to promote comfort, dignity and wellbeing

Replenish cleaning supplies and report low stock levels

Work as part of the wider care home team to support a high standard of service.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role (essential), with onsite training provided.

Carries out all cleaning duties to the required company standards. Cleaning duties can be in any area of the Care Home.

Is responsible for vacuuming, mopping and dusting floors, upholstery and any other surfaces.

Can ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to.

Can maintain a high standard of personal protection and hygiene.

Can ensure the correct use of PPE.

Can ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly used and kept in a safe condition.

Adheres to infection control policies and keeps up to date with training.

Is sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.

Is compliant with COSHH regulations.

Can keep on top of washing and drying of the residents’ clothes, bed sheets etc.

Can fold and put away clean laundry.
