Qualified Pharmacy Technician
Ashdown Medical Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in medicines optimisation, ensuring safe, effective and efficient prescribing processes while supporting excellent patient care across our busy GP practice.
The Role
You will take the lead in the day-to-day management of medicines optimisation, including:
- Managing repeat medication reauthorisation in line with Practice protocols.
- Undertaking medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge and other transfers of care.
- Managing medication monitoring and patient recall systems, particularly for high-risk medicines.
- Leading medicines-related QOF and CQC compliance work.
- Running prescribing safety searches, audits and quality improvement projects.
- Maintaining accurate medication records within SystmOne.
- Responding to medication queries from patients and liaising with GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, community pharmacies and hospital teams.
- Supporting safe, effective and cost-efficient prescribing across the Practice.
About You
You will:
- Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GphC) with a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (or recognised equivalent)
- Have excellent knowledge of medicines optimisation and prescribing processes.
- Be confident using clinical systems (SystmOne experience is desirable).
- Have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and continuous service improvement.
