Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Bartender to independently operate a small outdoor bar. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working alone, providing excellent customer service and taking responsibility for the smooth running of the bar throughout their shift.
As you will be operating the bar independently, previous bar experience is essential. You will be responsible for setting up the bar, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, handling payments, maintaining stock levels and keeping the bar clean, organised and compliant with licensing and health and safety requirements.
A full driving licence and access to reliable transport are essential for this position due to the location and requirements of the role.
Duties
- Independently set up, operate and close down the outdoor bar
- Prepare and serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks efficiently and professionally
- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service at all times
- Process card and cash payments accurately
- Monitor stock levels and restock the bar as required
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised bar throughout each shift
- Carry out opening and closing procedures independently
- Follow Challenge 25 and all relevant alcohol licensing requirements
- Monitor alcohol consumption and serve customers responsibly
- Ensure all health, safety and hygiene procedures are followed
- Take responsibility for the bar and surrounding service area while working alone
- Report any stock, maintenance, customer or operational issues to management
Skills & Requirements
- Previous bar or bartending experience is essential
- Full driving licence and reliable access to transport are essential
- Confident and comfortable working independently without direct supervision
- Good knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, responsible and trustworthy
- Confident handling payments and operating a till/card machine
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Able to remain calm and efficient during busy periods
- Understanding of responsible alcohol service and Challenge 25
- Comfortable working outdoors and adapting to changing weather conditions
- Able to complete physical tasks associated with setting up, restocking and closing down a small bar
This role would suit an experienced bartender who enjoys working independently and is confident taking ownership of a small outdoor bar operation.
Pay: £10.85-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
